Susquehanna Smallmouth July Rising Water Patterns
I had not been on the Susquehanna since February, and had a day to hit the Harrisburg area. I stayed well below the "in-bounds" region of the Bassmaster Kayak Series event that started the following day to give those competitors room to prefish. In all, I covered over 14 miles, up and back from the West Fairview launch. Targeting smallmouth in grass beds and turbulent convergences of current br...

How to Road Trip Kayak Fish ON THE CHEAP!
Просмотров 73322 часа назад
This was an impromptu seminar at the @KayakAdventureSeries event "Ozarkana" in July 2024, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. I covered the many ways that anglers who road trip can save some money along the way, and avoid just opting out of a roadtrip because of the expense.

Bass Fishing and Hammock Camping on a Small River

I never want to leave the river at the end of the day. This time I didn't. On a small river, a creek really in Missouri I fished from 4 pm to dusk, stayed out there and slept in my @boonedoxusa241 Drifter Hammock, woke up the next morning and continued my fishing adventure. Somewhere in the mix, I hooked and lost what would have been the largest flowing water largemouth I've caught. Occasionall...

Road Trip to Oklahoma River Bass Fishing
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.14 дней назад
This trip start in Maryland, goes through North Carolina, includes a roof top tent stay in a Lowe's parking lot near Knoxville, Tennessee, then moves onward through Arkansas and into Oklahoma. That's where I target smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass in a small river where I camp on the inside bend on a gravel bar.
5 Tips for Low Water Float Trips
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.14 дней назад
If you have kayak fished rivers long enough, you have had to deal with super low water and dragging through long sections instead of completing an actual "float" trip. These five tips from @roadtripangler Jameson Redding and myself will help you enjoy these conditions without the struggle of a 10 mile shin bashing death march.
Low Water Death March Float Trip
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.21 день назад
10.3 mile hike, not 10.3 mile float trip. That's what we did. The bite was decidedly off, but we had fun on a beautiful small Virginia river. It was pretty much a trip to the aquarium, with super clear water, we got to see all that this fishery had to offer, even if they weren't ready to play. We will be back. Lot's of 20 plus inch smallmouth in this small water. We just couldn't catch them in ...

Solo River Smallmouth Trip Michigan

This is the type of trip I always hope for on the road; river smallmouth on a flow that I've never been on, willing to smash topwater. Following the @KayakAdventureSeries in Whitehall, Michigan, I had a free day before jumping back into visiting @boonedoxusa241 dealers. This watershed is certainly dominated by trout, but I was able to find some smallies, including several bigs, yielding a 5 fis...
Drifting Soft Plastic Jerkbaits for River Smallmouth with Josh Chrenko
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.Месяц назад
Josh Chrenko, founder of Achigan Brand hosted me on his jet boat on the Muskegon River in Michigan, ahead of the @KayakAdventureSeries event. He had 12 fish in the boat with a nose hooked fluke before I got my first one to bite. So I put the camera in his hands and let him coach me through the rigging and presentation until I started catching them using his technique and rigging.

The Outfitter Truck Bed Kayak Rack by Boonedox
I experienced one of my greatest top water fish last Sunday,.The whopper Plopper and he hit it hard. Scored my personal best 18" small mouth in the Wrightsville area. Now I definitely want more.
You should have 100k subscribers, when you do, I’ll be here for it.
Maybe some day…. Thanks for the support!
Thanks for bringing us along Jeff
I need a couple of those usb c adapters. I wonder if they'll make a pigtail so you can run 2 gopro cameras off one battery
wtf with that soap in the river man, they make products that bio degrade and stuff. dog we gotta care more about the rivers we love than that cause there is more of uss all the time.
Will, do you have a favorite product to recommend?
@@TheLittleStuff i mean most old hippies use dr brawners for that purpose.
When released date
Not sure. This show is for previews of soon to be released products. I suggest you check with the manufacturer website and/or customer service.
The Torqeedo website says that it will be available on Aug. 8th. However, take that with a grain of salt. Waiting patiently since April.
Thanks
What color are you using for the 7” jerk shad
Pearl. I’ve caught them on pink too.
Insane! What a great video! Wish my ka-hoon-ays were big enough to adventure like this! :D
Hope you’re doing well Christie. I saw your name in a TN AOY list recently.
Tim and that net had me laughing this whole video!!!😂 I lost mine as well.
Mine sits in front of me. Easy to reach, doesn’t usually get caught on stuff.
favourite video of yours ever! it was so nice to see how he approaches such a small creek. we have a lot of those in Quebec. can’t wait to see what is in em.
Glad you are one of the few that doesn’t overlook small water. Thanks for watching!
Great footage, Jeff! I interviewed Tim for the recap and he told me to look for this footage. Love it!!!
This one was a tough one to film and not fish! Knowing when to switch from power to finesse is so critical.
What’s thoughts on commander?
It’s a classic that should have never been discontinued. Unfortunately, sales numbers are the only performance metric that matters. Diversity of design for specific types of fisheries peaked in the mid 2010’s. Since then, many if not most kayak manufacturers have chased some other manufacturers #1 top seller. That created an echo chamber of many 12.5 foot super wide, primary stability kayaks with the seat perpetually in the high position. The Commander 140 was a staple of my summer time river fishing when I started filming kayak fishing. I was a fool to let it go without getting a backup while they were available. But I do have this other boat. And it’s pretty cool too.
Most RUclips channels when you read kayak limbo or death march it’s click bait. I can guarantee with you it most definitely happened! 😅 I can’t be the only one who wants to know did any net make it back to the truck! Hahaha Good stuff!!
One of them did, only one.
This puts the adventure in the kayak adventure series.
Every trip with Tim is an adventure!
Tim is the man!
Tim is the COACH!
Try sticking some bounce drier sheet around, mosquitos won’t come near ya
I am putting one in my tackle bag right now!!
This is the definition of living and loving life the way we’re supposed too. Very minimal equipment and killing it.
I wasn’t fishing, didn’t have fishing equipment and still felt like I carried too much compared to what Tim brought.
good work
It was a grind, but we had fun!
Loving the Sunday morning videos Jeff appreciate it man! 🤙🏻
I try to keep up with “every Sunday”. Glad you look forward to them.
@@TheLittleStuff Love tuning in man if I’m not fishing 😬
Hats off to both! You all earned every inch….
We had fun working that hard!
Been watching your videos for a couple of years now. Thank you for all the great info. You have really helped me improve my game.
Thanks for saying so! I’m glad that you’re improving your angling skill set!
Why does your fat buddy not have a back to his seat?
Awesome Jeff! That’s some tight water, I fish that kind of water a lot 😊. Thanks for sharing!
It was, as promised an ADVENTURE!
Great video, this is what I love to see. Paddling, no graphs, not even a seat. Even brought his own music. True warrior!
The Captain’s Perch is a seat of sorts. It had to be minimalistic to get through that mess!
That's some RAMBO style Kayak Fishing, as Only The Strongest Survive!
This is what he does all over his home state of Alabama- find small overlooked water.
@@TheLittleStuff I admire his determined spirit.
Kayak adventure sadism 😂😂😂😂
Glad someone caught that! 😆
In my opinion Tim is one of the best stream and river fisherman around. Rarely in the public eye unless collecting his trophy 🏆 humble and dedicated. Thanks for filming him
Tougher than most, physically and mentally. His number of hours on small water over a lifetime has to be off the charts. That experience is a differentiator.
@TheLittleStuff in my opinion the line up of top river fisherman include but not limited to and in no particular order . Jeff little , Tim Perkins, lance Cooley, Drew Gregory, Mack McCorkle Timmy Dixon Eric Treadway & Kipp Wright folks are regular successful no matter the conditions. And understand fish habits migrations feeding and river flows. Like no other. Some are far more popular than others. Mostly the they are willing to put the effort in to protect the fishery the access and the the fish.
Love the commander, but how he sits on the captain’s perch all day is impressive. It would kill my back. I had a trip a few years ago where it felt there was a tree across the river every 100 yards. Wore my ass out. I’ve never been back. Another great video as usual.
Thanks! Tim has likely developed calluses on his tailbone and can’t feel it. Many hours on a Commander captains perch!
Commanders were great boats. They should have never stopped making them.
There’s opportunity in that statement. The Jackson Kilroy and Native Ultimate are in that same family, but with some critical differences. If someone were to focus on “what can you do with it” as opposed to conforming to todays long list of weight accumulating features, we might get something great again in a “throw and go” kayak again.
@TheLittleStuff Ultimates are great too, and having owned both, the flat end of the commander makes it easier to secure in the bed of a truck. The upper seat was great, the ability to stand with your feet below the waterline was great for stability. Man I wish I hadn't sold the ones I had back in the day.
what is the name of that bait? btw Schrenko is hilarious 🤣
It’s a Zoom Super Fluke.
Can't stop watching your paddling techniques. Man that is so instructive. Thanks a bunch for that.
I’ll have to do more like this. I’ll be “leveling up” my ACA Instructor level in a few weeks. There will be some moving water concepts to teach.
This new throttle design will be a game changer for fly fishing ! 👍 Any idea about how noisy the new Torqueedo will be? I own a 403, which is great for an overall lightweight system but far to much noisy for power or fly fishing in my opinion. I know the 1103 is far much more silent, how about the new one? And do you know if it will be distributed soon in Europe? Thanks for sharing.
It should be distributed everywhere the 1103 was, including Europe. The new motor is quiet at low speeds, but I can hear it as it approaches top end output.
@@TheLittleStuff thanks!
Where is the video about what you put into each of the boxes? That is where I struggle most when minimizing
Any idea how far up river you went. Curious how much a difference a motor allows for distance in a day.
On this particular afternoon? A few miles. Yesterday I was on my home river, the Susquehanna and went 6.1 miles up before turning around and coming back.
Love my Rain Shadow blanks
They are different in all the right ways!
Wow if you only had one more fishing pole? I think you would ve slaying them!
Jeff do you have any videos or tips for rigging a motor on the Kuda?
Yep. Check the Inflatable Kayaks playlist. You’ll end up spending more doing that than getting an Innovative Sportsman inflatable, but it’s all there on the playlist.
Thanks I will take a look
This is good stuff Jeff.
Great tips!
Thanks Tony!
Those new foot braces are going on my sportsman 💯
Can’t wait to get some set up!
Great info Jeff. Also keep your vehicle maintenance up. 5 plus is plenty fast.
Good info and products sir.
The drifter is definitely on my list.
Thanks for bringing us some In Depth coverage on products that may have been lost in the crowd otherwise Jeff.
No problem. I feel like there was so much more I could have covered.
@@TheLittleStuff, we appreciate everything you do share more than You know.
Thank you, Jeff and Tray, for all the information on the new Torqeedo Travel Ultra Light. I have one on order since April and the shipping date keeps getting pushed back. Also looking forward for the release of Trey's Rock Guard for the new motor. I appreciate all you guys do for the sport.
great content as usual always appreciate all the information. For someone with your vast experience i am planning on getting a new kayak with a new stern mounted torqueedo 1103 travel motor when they become available. My question is which motorized kayak will enable easier upstream access a rotomoulded kayak like the bonafide rvr 119 or an inflatable osprey1436 . wondering if there is much difference I want to do single point access on the susky
The Osprey 1436 with the new motor will do what you want. Buy the whole thing from Tray at Innovative Sportsman and have him make a prop with the old 1972-00 prop.
Great stuff. The flint is my favorite. Thanks for the tips Jeff.
It’s a cool river. I will say that once I moved away from the shoals, the bite was decidedly off. They all pile in those whitewater areas in the spring.
I don’t know how you sleep in that thing Jeff! I can’t sleep in a bed! Lol
It’s comfy.
Love this series and what catches your eye.
Two more days to come…
